Oil on canvas by Antonio del Castillo y Saavedra (1616-1668) was a Spanish Baroque painter born in Córdoba, of whose school he is the best exponent, in addition to standing out as a landscape painter and draftsman, a facet in which he can be counted among the most important painters of the Spanish Golden Age. He completed his studies at the school of the distinguished Francisco de Zurbarán.
The oil represents the Archangel holding a chalice in his hands.
